How can educational leaders use blogs?

Blogs can be useful for educational leaders.  Reading and reflecting on the thoughts of others can help give a person a different perspective on something.  It also gives an educational leader the opportunity to learn about what others are dealing with, and sometimes helps give a sense of camaraderie in a lonely profession.  We can learn and bond with others through sharing experiences.
An educational leader can also benefit from reading the comments that others have made on our posts.  Sometimes a pair of fresh eyes can give a new idea to help spark change or inspiration.  Blogging is the new way to build community among a group of people that otherwise would never know each other.

  1. I really like your post on this blog. I think these are great tools to be a different perspective on something. You are also correct that it gives you a sense of camaraderie. Ever since I started this blog, I get excited every time someone follows me. It makes me feel like they are my friends and I look forward to them helping me on my way.

  2. I agree with what you said about fresh eyes giving a new idea. I spent five years teaching a class that no one else had ever taught in my school and I had no support system to bounce ideas off of. It would have made such a difference back then. Shared experiences make learning more meaningful.
